Paul Masaracchio

(Class of 1967)

Paul was a 3-year starter as an offensive tackle. In his senior year he was selected Co-Caption of the team. In both his junior and senior years, he was selected 1st team all-City. He was also the President of the General Student Organization in his senior year and recipient of the prestigious All-Tech award. After Tech, Paul attended Harvard College where he majored in Economics and graduated with honors. He played football and lettered in Track and Field (hammer throw). He also was Co-Chairman of the Student Council. He then attended Harvard Business School and graduated with an MBA in Marketing.

Paul became a strategic product innovator, skilled in brand and business building, especially in the food industry. Overall, Paul led product development efforts generating $700M+ in incremental annual sales. He’s worked on over 20 food lines including development and implementation of two new brands that redefined product categories – Prego spaghetti sauce and Swanson premium frozen dinners. Paul also created a new market category, self-cleaning litterboxes, introducing and building the Litter Maid Brand into a $40M retail business. Paul has served as Consultant, VP, General Manager, Director of Marketing, and Product Manager. He has taught Marketing at the University of Miami as an Adjunct Lecturer. Paul’s focus broadened to include a special interest in the behavioral health field and recovery. In Palm Beach County, he has worked with multiple non-profits in areas such as research, grant writing, quality assurance/benchmarking, and strategic positioning.

In recent years, he has worked part-time as a group counselor at behavioral health centers This year he celebrated 40 years with his bride Susan Sunyak at his home in West Palm Beach, Florida. They have two great daughters, Jenna in Philadelphia (with their 2 grandchildren), and Kate who lives in Brooklyn. He enjoys trips north to visit.
